野暮用です。
被疑者では有りません。

それは、ある晴れた早春の朝の事である。
私はいつもの様に猫の額ほどの庭で、犬と戯れていた。
【猫と戯れていたのでは無い。庭が猫で、遊んでくれるのが犬。】
そう、犬にしてみれば彼が【実際は彼女だが】私と遊んでやっているのに違いない。

私は今を盛りにと咲き誇る木瓜（ボケ）の花を背景にこの御時世の写メを撮り、その花の可憐さと愛らしい犬の画像を見て悦に浸っていた。

It was a sunny early spring morning.I was playing with my dog ​​as usual in a postage stamp-sized yard.
【I wasn't playing with the cat.The garden is the cat and the dog plays with me.】
Since from the dog's point of view, I'm sure he 【in fact, it's her】 was just playing with me.

I took a trending photo with the quince blossoms in full bloom in the background.And I was engrossed in the beauty of the flowers and the pictures of the adorable dog.

その時である。
何か異質な物が目に留まった。そう、木瓜の木の端に何か見掛けぬ物が写っているのが。
イタチか、いや違う、リス⁈
残念な事に確認する間も無く、素早くいずことも無く走り去ってしまった。
小型のUMA（注1）を捕獲をするまたとない機会を逃したのでは有るまいか。慙愧の念に堪えないと、その時は思ったのだが。
（注1）UMAは和製英語です。未確認生物のこと。

Something strange caught my eye.That's right, there was something strange reflected on the edge of a quince tree.
Is that a weasel? No, it's a squirrel?
Unfortunately,without giving me a second to check, he quickly ran off somewhere.
I think I may have missed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to capture a small UMA（a）.
At that time, I thought I couldn't bear the feeling of shame.
（a）UMA stands for Unidentified Mysterious Animal. It is Japanese-English.

それから幾日か過ぎたある日、唐突にそれは起こった。
車の窓から例のリス？が行き成り飛び込んで来たのだ。
これぞまさに晴天の霹靂か⁈

One day, a few days after that day, it happened suddenly.
The squirrel just happened to jump in through the car window.
It is just like a bolt from the blue sky ,isn't it ?

人には慣れていないのだろう、私に威嚇しそして噛み付いた。
【ほら、怖く無い、ほらぁ～、怯えていただけなんだよね】
良く観ると、この子はキツネリスではないか。
人には慣れ無いキツネリスが、なぜ？
子供の頃友人には「お前には何か不思議な能力がある」と言われてはいたのだが。それは、しょい過ぎと言うものだろう。夏目貴志じゃ有るまいし。

それは兎も角、こんな子が現れるとは又何処かで国が戦争で沈んで行くのだろう。

そして沢山人が死ぬ。
悲しい事だ、余りにも。

Anyway,when a fox squirrel like this appears , a country will sink in war somewhere.
