Hi everyone, it’s been a while since my last update. I recently took my Fairlady Z on a road trip covering around 1,500 kilometers, from Asunción, Paraguay, to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to see Bring Me The Horizon live. After the trip, the car started having some issues, so I haven’t been in the mood to talk about it. But the journey itself was a memorable experience and a lot of fun, and I’d like to share some pictures of the Z with you all.

Before hitting the road, I had to take care of some maintenance. I noticed some vibrations when driving over 100 km/h, so I took the Z to a mechanic for an inspection. Turns out, the original bushings were on their way out. We replaced them with this new set of polyurethane bushings to get everything back in shape.

I also had to change the wheel nuts that came with the car. Each wheel had a security nut with 7 sides instead of the usual 6, which made it a pain to remove. Unfortunately, I had to ruin them to get them off, but it was necessary in case I needed to change a tire during the trip. On the bright side, the new wheel nuts look pretty cool!

The final step before the trip was getting an alignment after replacing the bushings. The F1 car in the picture is fake, but it was still cool to see and get a sense of the size of a real one.

First picture of the road trip! This was taken at Argentina customs in the afternoon. The Z definitely caught some attention here, as it’s not something you see often around these parts. Ended up staying a little longer than expected while the border agents checked out the car! 😂.

These shots were taken in Formosa and Corrientes, Argentina, about 6 hours into the trip. Took the chance to snap a few pictures while the Z was still looking clean.

10 hours in, around 3 AM, I stopped in Curuzú Cuatiá to take a nap as I was getting pretty tired. By this point, the Z was covered in splattered bugs. A lot of them got trapped between the front fender and the ebay lip I put on. They were a pain to clean after 😅.

This was the best fuel consumption I got—around 9.0 km/l with an average speed of 124 km/h. Usually, it was around 9.5-10 km/l at about 130 km/h, which isn’t exactly economical, but much better than city driving. I wonder if the wing affects fuel consumption... 🤔

I got lucky with my rest stop as it started raining pretty hard right after I parked. In the picture, I’m under a roof, so it might not look too bad, but driving a RWD in those conditions could be a bit nerve-wracking. This was taken just before I tried to sleep and, if it’s not obvious, sleeping in a 2-seat coupe isn’t exactly a great experience. 😅

About 3 hours after waking up the next morning. Another gas station, another picture. The sky looked amazing, and I think it really makes this shot stand out.

This was taken outside my rented Airbnb in Buenos Aires, with the Z trying to blend in with the local cars. I was a bit anxious about someone possibly trying to break in, as it’s a pretty common occurrence here, but luckily, I had no issues. In fact, I often noticed people stopping to take pictures with the car.

Since I mentioned the zoo, I got to see these fascinating rabbits called maras. They roam freely around the premises and even interact with visitors. Pretty cool.

The main reason for this road trip was seeing Bring Me The Horizon live. The show was incredible and totally worth the journey!

Okay, back to the car. Surprisingly, I ended up with fewer pictures of the Z in Buenos Aires than I expected, since I spent most of my time exploring the city on foot. Here’s one I took on the street under a tree, just before heading out on the third day.

This was taken just 3 hours after leaving Buenos Aires. I was still pretty tired from all the walking and the lack of sleep the night before, so I needed to recharge with an energy drink before continuing. On the way out of the city, I had a few fun runs against a Mercedes CLA on the highway. But my fuel consumption tanked pretty hard, so no more racing for me as I still had more than 12 hours of driving ahead.

I stopped again at the same gas station where I slept at the start of the trip. It looks a lot prettier with the sun out this time.

I was pretty tired on the way back, so I didn’t take many pictures. This video is from when I re-entered Asunción, Paraguay. I was relieved to make it to this point without any major issues with the car, but I was absolutely exhausted—and still had to deal with city traffic before finally reaching home and my bed.

Home at last! The Z safely back in the garage after an unforgettable trip. I couldn’t resist showing off some of the merch I picked up at the concert—it was an incredible experience all around.

The trip was an incredible experience, and I’m so glad the Z performed so well throughout. Unfortunately, it started having some serious issues after the journey and has been undrivable since.
